I am thrilled to officially launch a new website, 25tipsforcoaches.com, as a hub for all things instructional coaching and leadership. This website has been designed with a dual purpose: to celebrate and share insights from my upcoming book, Crush It from the Start: 25 Tips for Instructional Coaches and Leaders, and to provide a space for ongoing conversations and resources around the work we do as instructional coaches and leaders.
Introducing Crush It from the Start
After three years of hard work, research, and reflection, I am ecstatic to share that 25 Tips for Instructional Coaches and Leaders is in its final stages of editing and will be published in just a few short months! After publishing Crush it from the Start: 50 Tips for New Teachers, I felt coaches and leaders also needed a book to support them in coaching teachers on all things instruction. As a result, this book is a culmination of my experiences, lessons learned, and practical strategies honed over years of supporting K-20 teachers and driving meaningful change in schools. It’s packed with actionable tips that will empower coaches and leaders to start strong, build trust, amplify instruction through five major components, and create lasting impact. The book is broken up into five major parts that all modern instructional coaches and leaders need to know to make an impact in their work:
- Building and Maintaining Relationships
- Cognitive Science
- EdTech and AI Integration
- How Coaching Happens
- Systems Thinking
Whether you’re an experienced instructional coach or leader or just stepping into the role, this book will serve as a guide to navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with supporting teachers and advancing school goals. In addition to showcasing the book, 25TipsForCoaches.com will host a regular blog featuring insights, tips, and discussions on topics central to instructional coaching and leadership. From building relationships with teachers to navigating difficult conversations, leveraging data for impactful coaching, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, this blog is here to support you in your journey.

The journey to creating Crush It from the Start and launching this website has been deeply personal and profoundly rewarding as it’s been something I have been working on the last few years.
